The new ice-breaking supply vessel FESCO SAKHALIN has started working under the project "Sakhalin - 1"

On August, 30th 2005 in the port of Vakkanaj (Japan) a new ice-breaking supply vessel FESCO SAKHALIN was chartered by the company Exxon Neftegas Ltd.

This time charter agreement means the beginning of a long-term work of the vessel within the framework of the international oil and gas project «Sakhalin — 1».

The freight contract is signed by the both sides for five years with the prolongation option. During this period «FESCO SAKHALIN» will provide all- year-round supply of platform «Orlan» on the shelf of Sakhalin Island and ice-breaking servicing during the winter period.

Before the delivery the vessel has gone through the procedure of flag changing and registration in the Russian Register. On the arrival to the port of Kholmsk the vessel will proceed through the customs registration according to the legislation of the Russian Federation and then she will start loading the equipment and necessary materials for the platform. The port of registry of the vessel «FESCO SAKHALIN» is Vladivostok, base port — the port of Kholmsk on the Sakhalin Island.

The crew of FESCO SAKHALIN consists of 25 persons. The master of the ship is Sergey Zakharov.
