Konstantin Sokolov elected as CEO of VMTP

The Supervisory Board of VMTP has elected Konstantin Sokolov to the position of CEO with effect from September 16, 2013.

In early September VMTP completed the integration of Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT) into VMTP. The duties of Mr Sokolov will include ensuring business and financial performance of VMTP, strategic and operational planning, organisation of interaction between VMTP structural units, as well as interaction with Liner and Logistics, Marine and Rail divisions of FESCO Transportation Group.

Konstantin Sokolov has a successful experience in managing terminal complexes in Ust-Luga and St. Petersburg, from the construction and commissioning of facilities to the operational management of terminals. He is a professional in the field of creation and development of the stevedoring business, organising logistics services.

Prior to joining VMTP, Mr Sokolov headed Sea Commercial Port of Ust-Luga and Baltic Timber Port. Previously, he held senior positions in Eurosib Terminal and Baltic Transport Systems companies and was a captain of foreign-going vessels. He graduated from Admiral S. O. Makarov Leningrad Higher Marine Engineering College, and has a background in management and logistics systems operation.

Vladimir Korchanov, who previously held the position of CEO of VMTP, remains First Vice-President of FESCO and Director of the Vladivostok branch.
