FESCO verified SMS conformance to the ISM Code requirements

On the 2nd of November the annual inspection of FESCO Safety Management System to the requirements of International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention was completed.

The Annual inspection conducted from November 29 to December 02 confirmed adequacy of FESCO Safety Management System (SMS) to the requirements of International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (ISM Code) External audit was carried out by experts of the Head Office of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

As an outcome of audit the Company confirmed the adequacy of its Safety Management System to the standards of ISM Code and requirements of Administrations of Russian Federation, Cyprus and Malta flags. The existing Documents of Compliance (DOCs) were extended till next December.

On audit closing meeting with experts the President of FESCO Mr. Eugeniy Ambrosov stated that «the Top Management of the Company has been paid and will pay special attention to the Safety Management issues»

Mr. Eugeniy Ambrosov emphasized, «One of the main principles of FESCO is to adhere strictly to the international Conventions and Codes as well as to comply with the standards recommended by the international organizations and classification societies. And therefore, for instance, FESCO is one of the first Russian transport companies, which developed, implemented and certified Integrated Management System (IMS) based on the requirements of ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and International Specification OHSAS 18001:1999»
