PLC FESCO is opening a new liner service Vladivostok – Magadan – Vladivostok. The volume of cargo transit on this line is estimated on the level of 4000 TEU per year.

To transport the cargo on this line the containership «Kapitan Sergievskiy» of 320 TEU will be used. Cargo transit on the new line will be carried out once per 2 weeks. The 1st ship’s call at Vladivostok is planned on 11th of October 2004.

The Director of FESCO Container Lines Department Sergey Kostyan says that «the opening of the new line gives a possibility to FESCO to provide consignors with high-quality service and to avoid expensive automobile delivery of cargo to Vostochny port».

The new line will be opened in accordance with Program on extension and re-organization of regular container cargo transits between Russian ports of Far East.

At the present time FESCO already has been carrying out transits on the line port Vostochny — Magadan — port Vostochny which still will be served by container ship «Kapitan Artyukh» of 490 TEU.

FESCO Director General Evgeniy Ambrosov says that «by means of ice class containerships which FESCO has we can provide reliable service on these lines the whole year round». Besides, by his words, " in the frames of Program on extension and re-organization of transits the shipping company is planning to open other container lines».

Nowadays FESCO has the largest own container park of more than 45 000 TEU and it is a leader of container transits in Russia. Besides, FESCO is an undoubted leader of all types of cabotage transits in Far East providing more than half of all cargo transits between ports of Far East.
