Commercial Port of Vladivostok Handled Record Cargo Volumes – 7.7 Million Tons

Commercial port of Vladivostok (VMTP, part of FESCO Transportation Group) has set an absolute record in cargo volumes handled. For 9 months of 2018, the port handled more than 7.7 mln tons of various cargoes. This is 40% higher than the volumes compared to the same period in 2017 and the Port’s handling volumes for the whole record year of 2017 (7.5 million tons).

Commercial Port of Vladivostok Handled Record Cargo Volumes – 7.7 Million TonsContainer turnover for 9 months of 2018 increased by 15% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 393 thousand TEU, handling of vehicles by 74%, up to 43.7 thousand units, general cargo by 77%, up to 3.8 million tons. The average monthly volume of transshipment for 9 months of 2018 increased by 40% and reached 857.5 thousand tons per month.
VMTP regularly increases the speed of cargo handling: in three quarters of 2018, the Port handled 1 881 vessels (+18% compared to the previous year), 92.8 thousand cars (+49%), sent 819 container trains to various regions of Russia, Central Asia and Kazakhstan (+33%).
In 2017, VMTP handled record volume of cargo. For the first time in 120 years, it handled 7.5 million tons. VMTP plans to reach a new record of 10 million tons by the end of 2018.
