160 new containers for FESCO

FESCO has placed a $ 3 million order for 160 40-foot temperature-controlled high-cube containers, to be built in China and due to enter service in March 2004 in order to assist with the arrival of the RF peak season from Australia and New Zealand to Nort

The refrigeration units are manufactured by Carrier Transicold Ltd. This order is a part of the quality container upgrade programme placed by FESCO for the year of 2004.
This order represents an increase of about 16 percent for FESCO`s fleet of reefer containers. It cited a "considerable" increase in shipments of refrigerated cargo in the last year 2003, as well as improved efficiency in the usage of the boxes.
